衡东是湖南省级风景名胜区，境内拥有丰富的人文景观和优美的自然风光。人文景观有罗荣桓元帅故居及铜像纪念园、欧阳海烈士纪念塔、清代彭浚状元第等。自然景观有唐代赐封为“楚南第一景”的锡岩仙洞，洞内奇异幽深，石林胜景，比比皆是；有杨桥的金盆温泉，沐浴休闲，清心怡神，流连忘返。有石湾的“回澜山”、草市的“灵山庙”、夏浦的“小漓江”、南湾的“双流夹镜”、“五马绕云”、“雷坡晓霞”、“虎丘夕照”、“寒塘秋月”，以及相传为南岳七十二峰的“凤凰山”、“晓霞峰”、“彩霞峰”等等，风景雅致，引人入胜。洣水两岸青山竞秀，水上百舸争流，山比黄山秀，水似漓江美，沿途有杨山古祠、元宝大观、雄师戏球、郦公钓台、潭江渔村众多景点，顺流而下，既能处处观景，又可洣水漂流，是旅游观光的胜地。 |
